Il 17 aprile è la giornata internazionale del prigioniero politico palestinese, sono 4812 i detenuti nelle carceri israeliane tra loro ci sono oltre 2 19 minorenni, dal 1967 in oltre 750.000 sono passati per le prigioni israel iane, una cifra equivalente al 20% del popolo della Palestina occupata. &nb sp;

Crediamo sia giusto ed importante rispondere all’appel lo lanciato dalle organizzazioni palestinesi  organizzando manifestazi oni e presidi in tutta Italia , dando forza e sostegno alla lotta che da ol tre due anni portano avanti i prigionieri palestinesi contro  un impia nto di detenzione brutale, per  il rispetto dei diritti umani e la fin e del sistema di detenzione amministrativa e della tortura. Il 23 febbraio scorso, un giovane palestinese Arafat Jaradat  è morto nel carc ere di Megiddo in seguito alle sevizie inflittegli dall’esercito isra eliano. Il diritto di resistenza, questo è ciò che il sionism o e l'imperialismo vogliono seppellire nelle carceri, israeliane  di Megiddo, Nafha, Ofer, colpendo uomini e donne del popolo, militanti insi eme a figure storiche e dirigenti politici come Ahmed Saa’dat Segreta rio Generale del Fronte Popolare di Liberazione della Palestina o Marwan Ba rghouti  Segretario Generale di Al Fatah in Cisgiordania.  A ques ti prigionieri si aggiungono  i detenuti di diverse nazionalità   arabe fatti prigionieri, nel corso dei conflitti scatenati da Israel e poi  scomparsi  nelle prigioni militari di massima sicurezza. & nbsp;

La lotta del popolo palestinese non è diversa e non può essere separata dalla lotta di quanti  in tutto il mondo s i battono per il progresso, l’indipendenza e l’autodeterminazio ne del proprio popolo; è lo stesso sistema di interessi economici e politici imperialisti che, in forme diverse da paese a paese, impone il suo   brutale dominio a danno dei popoli.

All’interno de ll’Europa e dell’ intera area mediterranea la repressione colpi sce duramente i movimenti sociali e politici, che si oppongono alle poltich e antipopolari e reazionarie della Troika, mentre  ancora più d uramente vengono attaccate le organizzazioni della sinistra di classe che g uidano i processi di autodeterminazione e di indipendenza. L’UE non a ccetta di essere messa in discussione e per questa ragione offre il pieno s ostegno al governo spagnolo nella repressione della sinistra patriottica ba sca, e sostiene la Turchia nella repressione del movimento di liberazione c urdo che vede il suo leader da oltre 15 anni sepolto vivo nel carcere di Im rali, grazie alla complicità del governo D’Alema.

La lotta antimperialista in America Latina sta vivendo il suo  momento più alto, ma l’imperialismo non accetta di veder crescere il processo rivoluzionario e socialista messo in campo dai paesi dell’AL BA, a cui si affianca l’azione dei governi progressisti e antimperial isti. E’ un continente che sta costruendo la sua indipendenza su basi avanzate  di democrazia reale partecipativa economica e politica ma c ontro il quale le oligarchie reazionarie attuano ogni forma di guerra econo mica, sociale e  militare , uccidendo e imprigionando i dirigenti poli tici e sindacali (è ad esempio il caso, del Perù, del Cile o della martoriata Colombia).

L’imperialismo non accetta chi si ribella al suo dominio, chi resiste e costruisce processi socialisti co nsolidati, e per questa ragione si accanisce contro il percorso di indipend enza della rivoluzione socialista cubana. Non solo l’infame blocco ec onomico-finanziario da oltre 50 anni,  ma l’attività anti comunista a guida imperialista ha colpito Cuba con continui attacchi terror istici,che hanno provocato migliaia di morti ; è in tale violento co ntesto controrivoluzionario a guida USA-CIA  che va collocata e  interpretata politicamente l’ingiusta e assurda detenzione da 14 anni di 5 agenti antiterroristi cubani  che sono ostaggi di Washington,con l’unica  accusa di aver scoperto e denunciato e ostacolato la v iolenta attività eversiva   di formazioni terroristiche an ticubane  molto attive , promosse e sostenute dai diversi governi stat unitensi, repubblicani e democratici.

Invitiamo a partecipare e a costruire iniziative unitarie per il 17 Aprile rafforzando la giornata d el  prigioniero politico palestinese e rivendicando la libertà per tutti i combattenti anticapitalisti e antimperialisti detenuti.

April 17th will be the international Day of Palestinian Political Prisoners. 4812 peop le are jailed in Israeli jails; among them more than 219 under 18, from 196 7 on, more than 750.000 Palestinians have been jailed, about 20% of occupie d Palestine’s population.

We feel we must answer the call of the Palestinian organizations by organizing demonstration in Italy, to s trengthen and support the struggle that Palestinian prisoners have been fig hting  since two years against a brutal detention, to respect their hu man rights, against administrative detention and torture. On February  23th a young Palestinian, Arafat Jaradat, died in Megiddo jail after being tortured  by Israeli Army. Zionism and imperialism are trying to bury the right to resist in Megiddo, Nafha, Ofer  prisons, where people&rs quo;s men and women, militants and leaders such as Ahmed Saa’dat, Gen eral Secretary of the Palestinian People’s Liberation Front, and Marw an  Barghouti, Cisgiordania’s General Secretary of Al Fatah, are jailed. There also are several militants from different Arab nations, capt ured during the Israeli-launched wars and disappeared in the military jails .

The struggle of the Palestinian people is not different and c annot be separated from the struggles by those who fight for progress, inde pendence and self-determination of their peoples worldwide; the same imperi alist political and economic interests system, although by different means, imposes its brutal dominance against the peoples.

Inside Europe and in the whole Mediterranean area repression is hardly hitting the socia l and political movements against the Troika’s reactionary and anti-p eople policies, while attacking harder still the class-oriented left-wing o rganizations leading self determination and independence processes.  E U does not tolerate to be questioned, so it supports the Spanish government ’s repression of the Basque patriotic left, and it supports Turkey ag ainst Kurdish liberation movement. The Kurdish leader is buried alive in Im rali jail since fifteen years, thanks to the accomplice D’Alema Itali an government.

Anti-imperialist struggle has its peak in Latin A merica, but imperialism does not accept te growth of the socialist revoluti onary process of the ALBA countries, and the action of progressive and anti -imperialist governments. A whole continent is building its independence in an advanced participative real democracy, both economic and political. Aga inst that reactionary oligarchies are waging economic, social and military war, by killing and jailing political and trade-union leader ( it happens i n Chile, Peru, and Colombia).

Imperialism cannot tolerate rebell ion against its dominance, or resistance and construction of consolidated s ocialist processes, and this is why it attacks the independence path of the Cuban revolution. Besides the infamous 50-years economic and financial blo ckade, imperialist-led anti-communist activity have been attacking Cuba by continued terrorist actions, causing victims by the thousand. In this USA-C IA violent counter-revolutionary framework the absurd and unjust detention since more than 14 years of 5  Cuban counter-terrorist agents must be put and politically analyzed.  Their only guilt is discovering and den ouncing the violent terrorist activity of anti-Cuban terrorist formations, supported by both Democratic and republican US administrations.
We thu s call to organize and join initiatives on April 17th, supporting the Day o f the Palestinian Political Prisoner and demanding freedom for all anti-imp erialist and anti-capitalist prisoners worldwide.

These men and women, these revolutionary comrades, are accused of fighting against the vi olence of imperialist occupation and social injustice.
