 ing at Bristol's Palestine Museum at 7.30pm on Tuesday 3rd December. In thi
 s ravishing film we meet the surfers of Gaza, a group of young men and wome
 n who find their freedom in the waves of the Mediterranean, away from the d
 epressing reality of living under blockade in “the world’s biggest open air

 </strong><br /><br />On Thursday 6th December at 6.30pm, the star of Wall, 
 two-time Oscar nominee, David Hare, joins us for a screening and Q&A at Wat
 ershed. The film is an animated documentary, exploring the impact that the 
 wall separating Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories has had on 
 the people in the region. Rich with rhythmic, raw imagery, the film is fram
 ed by Hare’s journey, as both his heart and mind are shaken by the incongru

 eem, a Palestinian from East Jerusalem who works as a deliveryman. Despite 
 being worlds apart, Sarah and Saleem risk everything as they embark on an i
 llicit affair that could tear apart their unsuspecting respective families.

  the only place where they can forget about everything. Outside of the foot
 ball pitch, they pray and they fight for a better future, despite the hards

 x Blumenthal and Dan Cohen, turned a camera onto the survivors to let them 
 speak for themselves and tell their acts of creative resistance. After the

 while her mother was in prison, Walaa is determined to be a policewoman on 
 the Palestinian Security Forces. This intimate documentary follows Walaa fr
 om aged 15 to 21, revealing the exuberant energy of its subject and a first

 final film of Bristol Palestine Film Festival will be Tel Aviv on Fire, scr
 eening at The Cube, at 8pm on Sunday 9th December. The comedy follows Salam
 , an intern on a popular Palestinian soap opera. Arrested at a checkpoint, 
 he deceives Israeli commander Assi, into thinking that he is a writer on th
 e show. Squeezed between the Israeli officer and the Palestinian backers, S

 g><br />The first Bristol Palestine Film Festival was held in 2011, launche
 d by the acclaimed film-maker Ken Loach, who remains the festival’s patron.
  Since then, the event has screened more than 50 films and welcomed more th
 an 2,000 attenders. Hosted by the Watershed, the aim of the festival is to 
 deepen public understanding of Palestinian society and forge links between 
 the Palestinian communities represented on screen, and the audiences watchi
 ng them in Bristol.</p>
