15- Deadline Volunteers Ohchr Translation

Translation of 12 short videos from English to Arabic
OHCHR Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights

TASK

The UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights seeks volunteers to translate twelve short videos (3 minutes each) from women human rights defenders in commemoration of Beijing +20. The translation would be used to provide subtitles to the video message and thus attention would be needed to finding the appropriate summarized translation than literally translated.

Deadline would be 15 November 2014. Shorts videos will be sent on rolling basis as ready starting in the beginning of October 2014.

Number of volunteers: 1

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

OHCHR has a mandate to promote and protect the human rights of all people. Our commemoration of the Beijing +20 is a critical moment to draw attention to women’s rights violations and state obligations. This campaign is dedicated to mark 20 years since the landmark 4th World Conference for Women, which reaffirmed the fundamental human rights of all women. The videos will be released via OHCHR’s social media from 10 December 2014 (Human Rights Day) to 8 March 2015 (International Women’s Day).

OBJECTIVE

The objective is to make the video message more accessible for people around the world. It will be used by OHCHR field offices in their respective commemorations of International Women's Day.
